TfL have changed the format of the Topographical Examination
- Our Classroom Course is now fully updated incorperating the new guidelines -
TfL Have issued an updated guide to undertaking the Topographical assessment which is available to download and read from the TfL website or below.
Main Points:
1) 3 digital routes instead of 4 worth now worth 66%
2) 70 minute exam time (Down from 90 minutes)
3) 24 Questions in total
4) Three types of questions:
A) Route Planning
B) Multiple Choice
C) Compass Points and Directions

Trainer to student ratio - 1 Trainer to 4 students Maximum !
Classroom Complete Digital Map Course 3 Hours = £89.99 Including VAT
We limit our class sizes no more then 4 students per class, maximum Trainer to student ratio is 1 Trainer to 4 students. Training takes place throughout the week on various times and days, check our digital calendar for availability, we often add extra courses according to demand. Bespoke software - Exact same control, look and feel as the real TfL Assessment for MCQ's and digital route planning. Note - we cannot provide waiting facilities for anyone who is not undertaking training with us. Please note our classroom course as detailed below has been updated to refelct changes in the tfl topographical assessment as of may 2026 |
Our Digital map classroom training course is run with an experienced trainer who will provide a three hour classroom course covering all elements of the assessment, including an overview of what type of questions may come up and how to answer them along with a FULL multiple choice and compass direction question MOCK assessment.
You will spend most of the session concentrating with practice on how to correctly navigate the digital map part of your assessment which accounts for 66% of your overall marks, this part of the test is what most people are failing on. Students will complete as many digital routes as possible using a computer with software that has the exact same control, look and feel as the real TfL Assessment for MCQ's and digital route planning, each route will be checked by one of our trainers who will provide detailed feedback on areas for improvement. This session will give you a complete overview of what to expect on your examination and you will practice on the skills required for the examination.
